Title:
Cannot specify newsgroup subscriptions directly
Status in The Evolution Mail & Calendaring Tool:
Expired
Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: evolution
When subscribing to newsgroups on nntp news servers, the subscription
dialog does not allow users to specify newsgroups directly.
On other nntp newsreaders like pan or nn or slrn, you can specify the
newsgroup you want to read or subscribe to directly (comp.os.linux)
rather than having to navigate through a tree (click 'comp,' wait,
click 'os,' wait, click 'linux')
TO REPRODUCE:
1) Set up a new nntp account.
2) Go to Folder>>Subscriptions
3) select the news server you specified in the nntp account
4) The subscription dialog will open. It will allow you to subscribe
by going through the tree graphically, but not by specifying the
newsgroup directly.
FEATURE REQUESTED
A means of entering the newsgroup to be subscribed to directly.
