Title:
Feature request: option to change the local display name of a folder
without renaming the folder on a server

Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: evolution

Unless I missed something, it is currently not possible to change the
display name of an IMAP folder without renaming the folder on the
server. But IMHO, this is an increasingly important feature.

The rational behind this request is more or less the same than for the
  http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=206061: interoperability.

More and more people need to be able to check their emails from
different computers, and the use of webmail is becoming wide-spread.
But those interfaces don't let you the choice of how to name the main
  folders (inbox, sent, trash, etc.).

For example, with my ISP I have:
  - INBOX
  - DRAFT
  - OUTBOX
  - QUARANTINE
  - TRASH
and I would like to see:
  - Inbox
  - Draft
  - Sent
  - Junk
  - Trash
but renaming the folders breaks the webmail interface. The issue is even more
annoying when you want to set up a system in a different language... Beside the
fact that upper-case names are ugly, I don't think that my grand-mother should
have to learn what OUTBOX and QUARANTINE mean in French!

It would be great if it was possible to change the display name in the
properties of the folder. This would allow Evolution to play nicely
with other clients, and specially webmail interfaces, on which we have
very little control (that and an official alternative to the trash and
junk vfolders would be much appreciated).
