Also affects chromium-browser 30.0.1599.114-0ubuntu0.12.04.3 from
precise-security on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

This bug is extremely irritating as it destroys the Fitts' Law effect
for changing tabs - by adding the extra 1px of menu at the top of the
screen you can now overshoot the tab and get a menu instead.

I have confirmed that this bug is not present in upstream Chromium, see
bug report here:

Cr menu should be hidden, but is 1px high

Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  xubuntu 13.04
  chromium-browser 30.0.1599.114-0ubuntu0.13.04.2 from raring-security

When the window is maximized there is an area above the tabs and if I
click there I can see the menu entries (see the attached screenshot).
