I don't understand this bug.

Selecting something copies it to the PRIMARY clipboard, and selecting
something, right clicking it and clicking on "Copy" copies it to the
CLIPBOARD clipboard.

Is this not working for you?

Title:
No option to automatically copy selection to clipboard

Status in “gnome-terminal” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-terminal

  Version: 2.32.0-0ubuntu1

Something that's been really annoying me since switching from xterm to
gnome-terminal is the fact than when you select some text in the
terminal it only gets copied to some internal buffer and not the
system-wide clipboard. So I looked in the preferences to try and
enable this, but there doesn't seem to be any such option :-(. Please
  could one be added?

(I guess this should be marked as "wishlist", but I can't see an
option for that on this Launchpad form I'm typing in, unless I'm
supposed to type "wishlist" into the tags field under extra options?)
