This is not a problem with software-center. Chromium is available.
However Google Chrome is proprietary and cannot simply be redistributed.
Google chose the license, and will need to do the requisite work to
publish Chrome in software-center as per that choice.

Title:
Software Center does not list Google Chrome as available to install

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
The first thing I do when I install an Ubuntu system is to install Chrome,
and it's probably one of the most popular third party apps on Ubuntu.
Why doesn't it show up in the Software Center?

Sure, Google should jump through flaming hoops to make this happen,
  per standard procedure.
Or, just maybe, Canonical should recognize the Chrome meets the
spirit of their requirements, is very well maintained, and is very popular,
and just add the friggin' thing already.

  I'm just sayin'.
