and the problem persists, contrary to what is reported in the duplicate bug.
The description of the
bug, and its workaround, are exactly the same as those of Luis Felipe.
Therefore, I'm not sure this a duplicate of the other bug, which appears
to be solved in a previous kernel version.

No sound Ubuntu 13.04
Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
No sound can be produced in any possible way; In the sound settings, only
Dummy Output is given as sound device;
There is the second OS installed (Windows 8), there is no problems with sound
there, so it is not a hardware problem.
In the files attached, is the output of alsa testing script (alsa-info.sh).
