You can click on the column headers to change the sort too. One thing to check is the View/"Group By Thread", which will override the name order for instance, making it seem like the sort had a few glitches. Turn it off for a true name sort.

They are sorted by date and not by subject. Becuase I just make all the mails are sorted by date. Second: by sender All the mail is ascending or descending by sender. Just sender and not include other fields. By sender means that all the mail are sorted from A .....to Z or from Z .to A。 I sort mails to find one mail. In evolution style it is too hard to find one mail. So I use two computers. XP pc just receive/send mail because ubuntu mail evolution is not smart. I hope you can fix this bug. I think outlook style is a good example.
