Title:
Clicking "Logout" from GUI does not restart lightdm

Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I am running 12.04, updated today. When I click on the gears icon in the
pannel and select "Log Out" I am logged out but my X session does not restart.
It hangs on a screen full of text (I'll have to try again and update with
specifics). If I login from another virtual console and run
  #/etc/init.d/lightdm restart
then the system logs me in correctly.
