The bug still happens in Evolution 3.32.2 but I do get an error message

"Error loading Calendar cannot open calendar: Unexpected HTTP status
code 2 returned"

This is with the "copy calendar contents for offline operation" box
ticked

  Pristine VirtualBox computer: Karmic & Evolution 2.28.1
  Preexisting Google calendar

  Under Evolution
     New Calendar, Type: Google, User name: o.dela...@gmail.com, Refresh: 1mn
  => successful synchronization 
  =>Appointment appear
  Select "Local copy for off-line usage"
  Unplug network wire.
  Close then open Evolution
  =>Appointment undisplayed
  Plug network wire.
  =>Appointment appear
