mlkovacs, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p xorg <replace-with-bug-number>

Title:
Monitor shuts off after clean install of Lucid Lynx Alpha 3
Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
First attempt at running a live Lucid Alpha 3 CD (March 8 2010 Daily build)
resulted in a black screen and monitor switching off.
Seond attempt I incuded the nomodeset option and it booted fine. I then
proceeded to install and verything went fine until it after retstarting. Upon
reboot, no splash and the monitor switches to sleep mode. Just a Black screen.
I can switch to another VT. Tried restarting X but nothing. Tried sudo apt-get
update, upgrade and dist-upgrade. Still the same.
