Title:
'alt' randomly unclicks while i hold it pressed

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
hi. i'm using ubuntu 12.04 lts amd64 with latest updates installed. i'm using
windowmanager+gdm (no unity). windowmanager uses alt+1....alt+9 key
combinations to switch between desktops. today i've discovered that alt
'unclicks' randomly while i press it to switch between desktops. example
scenario:
i press alt, hold it, press 1, windowmaker switched to 1st. i do not release
alt and press 2, windowmaker switches to second desktop, which, for example,
running text editor.
i still do not release alt and press 3, to switch to third desktop. but
instead of switching to third desktop i see that '3' appeared in running text
editor. i still do not release alt and start to press different keys - they
works as if i do not pressed alt (but i hold alt at this time).
