Mario Veygel, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

I noticed that every now and then (mainly when the notebook has been unattended for a minute or so) the mouse cursor movement is slow, screen update rates drop significantly (e.g. when scrolling in a browser window) for no apparent reason. This happens even if the PC is idle, with no programs running except of the KDE desktop. The cpu monitor doesn't show any load when this occurs. This issue lasts only for a few seconds, then everything goes back to normal. Looks to me as if something goes to sleep when no user input occurs for a while, and takes too long to wake up.
