Cerin, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .

Oddly, the boot menu shows up on an HDMI monitor, but selecting any option (e.g. "Install Ubuntu") causes the screen to go completely black, after which nothing appears. I encountered this problem on a Dell Inspiron 660s while attempting to install Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Strangely, the Mythbuntu installer works perfectly fine with HDMI...
