Title:
The system freezes upon a certain action
Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
The system froze twice, and in each case I was doing two things:
- Playing music on Rhythmbox
- Using Google Chrome to browse a page with a large number of hyperlinks. One
of these pages was the Ubuntu One page where you can see your files (I was in a
directory with 89 items), the other was:
http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?doc=Perseus%3atext%3a1999.01.0169%3atext%3dApol.
(Notice the great number of links on the top indicating the position in the
book.)
After moving my mouse through several of these links, the system froze
up in both instances. However:
- I could continue moving the mouse, even though actions like clicking, or
moving the mouse to the left side of the screen to display the launcher had no
effect.
- More interestingly, the music kept playing.
I had to shut the computer off via the power button to restart.
