Carlos Pena, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Thank you for your understanding. If I press the keyboard key "Brightness down", the screen resolution of one of my monitors changes. If I press it again, the laptop's screen turns off. I can restore my original configuration by going to 'System settings' -> 'Displays' This problem doesn't happen when pressing "Brightness up" key. If I change the brightness by going to 'System setting' -> 'Brightness & Lock' (instead of using the keyboard keys), I don't get any problems. It seems to happen only when: * Pressing the keyboard key to decrease brightness & * Having multiple monitors I have tried both nvidia closed source drivers and nouveau open source drivers, and it happens with both of them. It even happens with Ubuntu Live CD. I have attached a video demonstrating the problem.
