MichaelE, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
  Display & keyboard froze

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
Was using my desktop PC when display completely froze. I did not do
anything special (I was surfing in my intranet). Keyboard was also
completely dead (could not switch numlock LED).

I could still observ random disk activity so I assume that the kernel was
still working (it did record some crash information to the attached kern.log).
I had to power-cycle to get access to the system again.
