WIlliam Woelke, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
mouse keys too easy to accidently turn on

Status in GNOME Control Center:
  New
Status in One Hundred Papercuts:
  Confirmed
Status in GNOME Remote Desktop:
  New
Status in X.Org X server:
  In Progress
Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I am using Hardy Heron and several times now I have tried to use my
number pad only to discover that they now move the mouse. I don't know
if there is a short cut key I am hitting on accident, but it is rather
annoying. Then sometimes when I disable mouse keys, the numlock
becomes switched so that the system thinks numlock is on when the
  light is off and vice-versa.

  Update: the shortcut is: shift+num-lock
