Rytis, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Thank you for your understanding. It can occur only after hours of use or quite soon after logging in, thus I guess it's pretty random. After the crash, the screen blinks (with black screen and terminal output) for a few times and then GDM restarts and I'm able to log back in. Please note that I'm not using a standard Ubuntu kernel due to a problem I've had since Karmic: in that case, X wouldn't even start. However, even with a modified kernel, I experienced no problems while using Karmic.
