PurpleFool, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
NULL deref in __restore_rt when attempting to start vncviewer

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xserver-xephyr

Since the Lucid release, starting a Xephyr server and running vncviewer
against it results in a SIGSEGV.

The backtrace (running with -sync) was:
  0: Xephyr (xorg_backtrace+0x28) [0x57ebb8]
  1: Xephyr (0x400000+0x1827cd) [0x5827cd]
  2: /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0x7f57bdbc2000+0xf8f0) [0x7f57bdbd18f0]
  Segmentation fault at address (nil)

With the previous Xephyr version I tried running Xephyr under gdb to
get more info but that suppressed the symptoms. Now I can run, for
instance, xload against the server but vncviewer dies.

I've attached a core generated with the above backtrace.
