Alejandro Cuervo, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't
been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
xserver high cpu usage / frozen after being idle

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

Fresh install of ubuntu 10.04 bit with all updates
  Using Nvidia latest driver 256.35.
  Also happens with nvidia's 195.36, 190.53, 190.42, 185.18, and 180.60.

Computer is working ok, I step away for a while, and when I come back, there
is only a black screen.
Computer is unresponsive to mouse and keyboard.
However I can login remotely via ssh, using the command top, I can see that
CPU usage of Xorg is 100%.
The only way to get back control of the machine is to kill xorg.
Screen saver is set to "Blank Screen"
