Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, the laptop with the ATI card in it is now broken and I
currently don't have access to the Dell monitor. Sorry, I won't be able to
check to see if this problem has been resolved.

Title:
1920x1080 resolution not available for Dell ST2410 display

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

  Release: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Kernel: 2.6.34-020634-generic from the kernel ppa with this patch to fglrx (
https://lists.launchpad.net/hp-envy/msg00023.html )

(not sure if I need these)
  xorg: 1:7.5+5ubuntu1
  xserver-xorg-video-ati: 1:6.13.0-1ubuntu5

I am re-reporting this bug since it still occurs on Lucid (see
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/527683 )

Although Catalyst Control Center thinks that the resolution is
1920x1080, there is an empty inch of black LCD on all 4 sides of the
Dell ST2410 monitor. The display settings of the monitor shows that
the screen is full (and yet there is empty space). I am 99% sure there
should not be empty black space around the desktop.

I will upload the files that David was told to upload in bug 527683.
