Title:
Xorg segmentatoin fault and logs me out

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
This happens several times a day, and is very annoying. Basically I
was working in Ubuntu 11.10 64bit on my Thinkpad X220 laptop, and
everything looks normal, but all of a sudden, I was shown a black
screen (with some white text) and I was logged out. I have to enter my
password to log in again, and all my work in the previous login was
  gone.

It seems to be due to segmentation fault in Xorg. Please see the
attached log file Xorg.0.log.old for more details.

  System configuration:
  Ubuntu 11.10 64bit
  Thinkpad X220 2011 model
