I'm currently using Ubuntu 12.04 on the same Dell Mini 10, and xrandr is
now working:

     $ xrandr -q
     Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1366 x 768, maximum 4096 x 4096
     LVDS-0 connected 1366x768+0+0 224mm x 126mm
        1366x768       60.0*+
     HDMI-0 disconnected

However the video drivers are still not working, which makes everything
slow and video playing impossible.

I'll try the latest development release when possible.

Cheers

Title:
  invalid screen resolution on dell mini 10

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  After installing Ubuntu Natty on a Dell Inspirion mini 10, the screen
  resolution is 1024x768 instead of 1366x768 or 1024x576.

  The output of xrandr is:
  $ xrandr -q
  xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default
  Screen 0: minimum 1024 x 768, current 1024 x 768, maximum 1024 x 768
  default connected 1024x768+0+0 0mm x 0mm
     1024x768        0.0*
  $

  IMHO the installer should set the resolution to 1024x576 on Dell Mini 10
laptops and xrandr should return a list of valid resolutions.
