JrZabott, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. I've tryied all workarounds possible, but nothing worked. This is the error message, when running "unity --replace" from terminal until error happens again. The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'. (Details: serial 60390 error_code 3 request_code 20 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) I don't have a picture... but is exactly when unity crashes during use and do not replace itself. No 'top window bars', and menus, no Alt+TAB, no launcher.
