ktech, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-intel REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. KDE 4.7.3 is fast Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: In KDE 4.7.3, blur effect works fine using Open GL 2. In KDE 4.7.4, with blur and Open GL 2 on, effects are too slow and automatically disabled. Under KDE 4.8 GIT, the system is unusable and slow when Open GL 2 and Blur are on in kwin settings. However disabling Open GL 2 and reverting to open GL 1 works. However it is still slower than what Open GL2 offers in KDE 4.7.3 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/908336/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
