manfreed, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-intel REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Unity performance issue on intel gpu

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
The overall performance of my notebook feels worse when I Use unity.
After starting my computer everything seems to be fast, however in a
short time (in 1 hour, or less based on usage) things became slow, and
sometimes sluggish. A reboot seems to solve this. Suspend/resume seems
to make things slower a bit

For comparison I tried using XFCE for a while (compositing disabled).
The overall performance felt better. Webpages tend to scroll smoother,
intellij IDEA used to slow down (noticable lag when typing), I didn't
notice this behaviour while I used xfce, even when the IDE did some
  cpu intensive like rebuilding indexes.

When I use Unity the cpu usage of compiz grows over time even if
nothing happens on the screen, and I close every application.

Also my battery seems to drain faster
