candtalan, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. Problem: If a list of videos is seen in nautilus and attempted to view by opening movieplayer from right click in the nautilus list, then the movieplayer window shows black (but audio is ok). If now a cursor right click is used in the black area, then fleeting video picture is seen. If now the viewing is set to full screen, then a full good picture is seen ok. If now you leave full screen then picture area again shows only black. Alternative (works no problem): If movieplayer is first opened simply as an application, with no target video file, and THEN, the movieplayer menu is used: Movie>Open>[target file] then under this starting condition, the movieplayer video displays normally. This seems to occur with all the file types I can try, that is, it does not seem to be dependent on file types, rather though, on the method of starting the video in movieplayer.
