Uri Yanover, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. Mythbuntu Lucid (10.04). Essentially the same problems happen with kernels 2.6.32 (standard), 2.6.34 (Ubuntu builds) and 2.6.34 (custom by me). Following known problems of KMS with Radeon TV-out (see: Bug 584169), I switched to UMS by having a modprobe option of "radeon modeset 0". No GLX problems had been observed with KMS. The following problems were observed while employing GLX applications: 1. glxinfo runs successfully 2. glxgears runs with no crashes, but its window is black, and frame rate is about 2.5 times higher than the frame rate with KMS. During the running of glxinfo, the following lines are added to dmesg: "glxinfo:2693 freeing invalid memtype d02f2000-d0302000" 3. xbmc is very slow.
