Vasily, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. At August 22nd everything worked ok, so it looks like the problem is caused by the updates installed at August 23rd. The only thing that shows normally is the mouse pointer. == Regression details == Discovered in version: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.13.1-1ubuntu2 Last known good version: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:6.13.1-1ubuntu1 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: xorg 1:7.5+6ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-17.23-generic 2.6.35.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-17-generic i686 Architecture: i386 DRM.card0.LVDS.1: status: connected enabled: enabled dpms: On modes: 1024x768 800x600 848x480 720x480 640x480 edid-base64: AP///////wAyDAAAAAAAAAAPAQKAHhZ4CnSwlldUiyglUFQAAAABAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBZBkAQEEAJjAYiDYAMOQQAAAYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA/gBMR1BoaWxpcHNMQ0QKAAAA/gBMUDE1MFgwOC1UTEEyALI= DRM.card0.VGA.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: On modes: edid-base64: Date: Tue Aug 24 09:15:38 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.5) Lsusb: Bus 003 Device 002: ID 062a:0102 Creative Labs Wireless Keyboard/Mouse Combo [MK1152WC] Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub Bus 002 Device 002: ID 046d:c518 Logitech, Inc.
