Brian Lee, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
unity 3d size mismatch between display and cursor

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
This has been reported by others to the VirtualBox bug reports along
with a YouTube video display the effect. I have seen this effect with
Unity (3D) running through VirtualBox with 3D acceleration enabled and
128 MB video memory allocated, running on OS X 10.6.8 using ATI Radeon
HD 4870. This has also been reported as a problem with GNOME 3.

I am able to login and run Unity (3D), but the display does not match
the cursor tracking. Also, the windows do not always display. I can
view them if I open Workspaces. When I closed Workspaces, the window
"background" remains, but the outline disappears. The visible display
is smaller the actual display. I can only see the upper left region.
About 25% of the lower display and 25% of the right side are missing.

Unity-2D works fine. OpenGL applications also work, including the
test program glxgears with frame rates around 700.
