This may have occurred on an old laptop. I'll need to check and see if I
still have it. I have not experienced this since I upgraded my desktop
recently.

Title:
radeon/ati display response unacceptably slow after upgrade to Ubuntu
  10.4

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

Response of my display (radeon/ati) display has become unacceptably
slow after upgrade to Ubuntu 10.4. Basic operations such as scrolling
a window, repositioning a window, selecting an input field in a
browser form, etc. experience delays of several seconds or more, even
while "top" reports CPU load < 2%.
