Title:
Evince fails to display some PostScript files correctly
Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I'm using Evince 3.10.0 in a Lubuntu 13.10 x86 VirtualBox VM.
Certain PostScript files fail to render correctly in Evince.
See the attached example document. It has three pages but when loaded into
Evince only the last page is shown, upside-down.
At that point Evince reports:
(evince:2829): EvinceDocument-CRITICAL **: ev_document_get_n_pages: assertion
'EV_IS_DOCUMENT (document)' failed
If I then choose Rotate Left the displayed page disappears. Evince reports:
(evince:2829): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_get_from_surface: assertion 'width
> 0 && height > 0' failed
(evince:2829): Gtk-WARNING **: drawing failure for widget `EvView': invalid
matrix (not invertible)
(evince:2829): Gtk-WARNING **: drawing failure for widget `EvView': invalid
matrix (not invertible)
Clicking Rotate Left again causes the document to be displayed upside-
down again.
If I convert the PostScript file to PDF (by doing ps2pdfwr filename.ps
filename.pdf), the PDF document does display correctly in Evince.
