Leonardo SIlva Amaral, this bug was reported a while ago and there
hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is
still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest
development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Very slow composition with ATI 9100 IGP and Quantal

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
After a clean Quantal installation in a Toshiba A75-S229 notebook,
Unity runs VERY VERY slow, including several seconds to just draw a
warning box or the shutdown box. CPU burns-out to 100% (And the
multithread secondary cpu got overloaded too).

Any DM that uses Composition show this issue. Tested with Cinnamon.
Cinnamon2d just dont run and keep as Cinnamon 3D.

A workarround (Not well a workarround but a "Way to survive") is run
Cinnamon and in a gnome-terminal run "metacity --replace&", but this
kill Every window management, forcing me to use the terminal to launch
  applications.

Tryed Quantal version of Xorg and now testing without success xorg-
  edgers versions.

The fglrx driver existent in ppas and oficial repo dont support this
board, since the last catalyst driver supporting it v8.

Some outputs, since ubuntu-bug doesnt allow reports using ppas
  versions:
