Bodinux, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-nouveau REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Xorg takes all the CPU on some trivial tasks

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-nouveau” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

Two tasks lead to Xorg taking all the cpu and slowing down the current
  tasks.

  First task :
-using xsane, scan an image and direct it to the viewer, upon save, xorg
takes all the cpu and slows down the saving of the image. For example, it took
more than 11 minutes to save a 33MB image in .pnm format. Looking at the
progress bar, it as first going normally quick then it slew down more and more
until almost stalled. Finally the task (saving the image) ended after more than
11 minutes but the image could not be read in Eye of Gnome ("Le chargeur PNM
s'attendait à recevoir un entier, mais ce n'était pas le cas"), sometimes the
image is successfully saved.
This is reproduceable and very annoying.

  Second task :
-I got this bug also one time during a task in Gimp (resize or rotate) but I
could not reproduce it this morning.

Nevertheless despiste the slow down, it still possible to change
windows and do some work on the computer (no freeze).
