Title:
window's title bar disappears
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: xorg
window has no title bar. I can not move or resize the window. Visual Effects
is "None" (By default, I choose "Normal", but it changed to "None" by itself).
If I choose "Normal" again, the title bar appears, but next time I boot my
laptop, the problem comes back. I add "metacity" and "compiz" to the startup
application list, and it solves the problem, but a more serious problem comes
that a process with no name but a big pid (>10000 or >20000) runs, then it
terminates immediately and a new process (still no name) with a bigger pid
runs. It looks like a endless loop, and my CPU gets hot, the display slows down.
I know my laptop is an old one with legacy hardware, but Ubuntu 9.10 works
fine on it, the display is good, and wireless netcard works fine. Now 10.04
does not support them any more. :-(
