komputes, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-evdev REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Usability issues between Apple single-button mouse and contextual
  menus

Status in “xserver-xorg-input-evdev” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-mouse

When installed on a Mac, Ubuntu does not offer a friendly way to bring
up a contextual menu. As the Apple mouse has a single button and the
keyboard does not have a contextual menu button, it is effectively
impossible to bring up a menu without changing mouse/keyboard.

This issue has been discussed in this spec draft:
  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Accessibility/Specs/MouseTweaks/Details
Quote: Apple PowerMac traditionally have a single-button mouse. You can
access the context menu with a modifier key, but the click&hold is more
intuitive for many.

A problem I can foresee is that ctrl is currently used to select
multiple items. Alt and Windows key are used as the Movement ket in
  Sys > Prefs > Windows.

  Tested in 10.04 and 10.10
