Mouse pointer freezes in 11.10

Bug description:
**Workaround**
run synclient TouchpadOff=0
mouse pointer freezes in ubuntu 11.10.
I am using DELL inspiron mini and after 5 minutes or so mouse pointer stops
working.
although i can continue with keyboard but of no large use.
Rebooted system many a times because of this only. but of no help.
