Jasmin Ehrler, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-synaptics REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. Status in “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: On my Samsung NP-900X3A Ultrabook (Ubuntu 11.10 amd64) automatic sign-on after system-startup is activated. The touchpad randomly responds/works - or not. It seems to be a software-problem to me, as I found two ways to work around this: sign out using the keyboard or plugging in a usb-mouse. either way activates the touchpad. after logout the touchpad works. it also does as soon as a usb-mouse is plugged in and keeps working when the mouse is plugged out again. Also this happens randomly only. Some times it just works as expected.
