Strontium Dawg, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-synaptics REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. This means that if I move my finger in a circle on the pad, the mouse point makes a horizontally stretched ellipse instead of a circle. This makes it frustrating to use the pad because horizontal movements are far more sensitive than vertical movements. Another weird property of this issue is that the behavior appears to become very gradually more pronounced over time: at first boot my finger will trace a circle and the mouse pointer will trace it accurately: X and Y sensitivity seem about equal. After 5 - 10 minutes the X axis will be twice as sensitive (or perhaps the Y axis is 2x less senstive!?). After 30 minutes it's even worse, with the X axis 4 or 5 times as sensitive as the Y. Turning the Magic Trackpad off and on makes no difference. Restarting Ginn makes no difference. Is this a known issue? I could not find a bug report of it anywhere. This is my first bug report, please let me know if I can provide any more information.
