Gerrit Addiks, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-synaptics REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. After upgrading to 13.04 my Xorg server starts to crash at the third/fourth/fifth (or so) time i try to perform a right-click (with two fingers pressing down) and drops me to the login-screen. After debugging Xorg using another computer, i came to the conclusion that synaptics causes a stack-smash somwhere inside the function HandleState (called by ReadInput). The stack smash was detected after HandleState finished. I have attached the backtrace i have gathered with gdb. xserver-xorg-input-synaptics: Installiert: 1.6.2-1ubuntu6 Installationskandidat: 1.6.2-1ubuntu6 Versionstabelle: *** 1.6.2-1ubuntu6 0 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ raring/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 1.6.2-1ubuntu6 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-22.33-generic 3.8.11 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-22-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8 Architecture: i386 Date: Sun May 26 15:05:17 2013 DistUpgraded: 2013-04-10 21:57:27,560 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: raring DistroVariant: ubuntu EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-09-07 (260 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release i386 (20120423) MachineType: Apple Inc.
