  1. The mouse cursor froze only for synaptic touchpad ( cursor was working
fine with mouse and pc tablet). Which was solved with:
  #echo "options psmouse proto=imps" > /etc/modprobe.d/modules.conf

  2. Classic *nix highlight text to copy and right+left click to paste
stopped working, This is also applicable in between applications using
  mouse. 50-synaptics.conf reads like:

  Section "InputClass"
          Identifier "touchpad catchall"
          Driver "synaptics"
          MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"

          Option "Ignore" "on"
  EndSection

  3. Disabled the touchpad section in 10-evdev.conf which has no effect.

  4. Right side scrolling and double-finger scrolling stopped working
  (working fine earlier)

  5. synclient -l reports "Couldn't find synaptics properties. No

  6. Installed tpconfig and gpointing-device-settings, but reconfiguration
didn't help. Whined around the Net for 5 days and still no go!

  7. Attaching the config files (tpcong.7z)as instructed in the
  following page:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection#In_case_Touchpad_features_like_scrolling.2C_tapping.2C_etc._do_not_work_at_all.

  Outputs from:

  # evtest /dev/input/event6 --> evtest
