The mouse cursor froze only for synaptic touchpad ( cursor was working fine with mouse and pc tablet). Which was solved with: #echo "options psmouse proto=imps" > /etc/modprobe.d/modules.conf 2. Classic *nix highlight text to copy and right+left click to paste stopped working, This is also applicable in between applications using mouse. 50-synaptics.conf reads like: Section "InputClass" Identifier "touchpad catchall" Driver "synaptics" MatchIsTouchpad "on" MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*" Option "TapButton1" "1" Option "TapButton2" "2" Option "TapButton3" "3" Option "VertEdgeScroll" "on" Option "VertTwoFingerScroll" "on" Option "HorizEdgeScroll" "on" Option "HorizTwoFingerScroll" "on" Option "CircularScrolling" "on" Option "CircScrollTrigger" "2" Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinZ" "40" Option "EmulateTwoFingerMinW" "8" Option "CoastingSpeed" "0 # This option is recommend on all Linux systems using evdev, but cannot be # enabled by default. Disabled the touchpad section in 10-evdev.conf which has no effect. 4. Right side scrolling and double-finger scrolling stopped working (working fine earlier) 5. synclient -l reports "Couldn't find synaptics properties.
