Title:
monitor resolution does not go back to 1440x900 after change
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-nouveau” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
I was testing kernel 3.5.0-6.6:
http://packages.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/223/builds/19371/testcases/1306/results.
I have nouveau drivers installed and I have a Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS graphics
card.
I had 1440x900 resolution when I just booted to the 3.5.0-6.6 kernel.
I tried changing various resolutions and they all worked, but when I tried to
get back to 1440x900 I got a black screen.
Could not do anything.
I had to reboot pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL, not even CTRL+ALT+F1 displayed
anything on my video.
After rebooting into 3.5.0-6.6 kernel I got resolution 1366x768, the last
one chosen, I tried to change to 1440x900 again and I got a black screen again,
couldn't do anything but reboot.
This time I rebooted into 3.2.0-26 kernel and found resolution 1440x900
without having to change it.
I rebooted again into kernel 3.5.0-6.6 and the resolution was 1440x900.
If I change resolution and try to go back to 1440x900 on kernel 3.5.0-6.6 I
get a black screen and can't do anything.
This is my hardware:
