remmina: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/remmina/plugins/remmina-plugin- telepathy.so: undefined symbol: remmina_tp_handler_new -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to remmina in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1072457 Title: telepathy plugin is not functional Status in “remmina” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: in Ubuntu 12.04.1 (with all current updates applied), it is impossible to run: remmina -x telepathy (or remmina --plugin telepathy) …because there is some problem with "undefined symbol" (error output): /usr/bin/remmina: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/remmina/plugins /remmina-plugin-telepathy.so: undefined symbol: remmina_tp_handler_new This bug prevents using remmina vnc client instead of vinagre one when someone wants to share her/his desktop with you through "share my desktop" functionality in Empathy. It is quite unfortunate, because remmina is generally better (not only) vnc client (thus the default remote desktop access client in Ubuntu), but this bug prevents it to be drop-in replacement for vinagre. Disclaimer: As not a programmer, I'm not able to describe more internals of this problem. It seems, that this error may have various roots (according probably good written introduction https://blog.flameeyes.eu/2010/09/your-worst-enemy-undefined-symbol which I unfortunatelly don't understand at all) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/remmina/+bug/1072457/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
