so you mean that the HDMI audio output works fine before, but it does not work 
anymore? 
The kernel 3.5.0-22 you are using is pretty old, Haswell platform might not be 
supported yet. 
Have you tried to upgrade your system?
(search "update manager" in Ubuntu dash)
