Title: desktop effects + newly attached monitor = both monitors blank Status in “nvidia-graphics-drivers-319-updates” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I have a monitor and a TV connected to my desktop, with the TV usually off. When desktop effects are enabled and the TV is turned on, both monitor and TV go blank (black), and only the mouse pointer is visible. The only way out of this is to disable desktop effects - I had to add a keyboard shortcut for this, otherwise only a hard reboot would get me out of this state. I no longer enable desktop effects due to this, and hope it will be fixed soon. Kubuntu 13.10 with KDE 4.11.3, NVidia 9300 with 319-updates (319.60) drivers.
