Title:
Gnome terminal's tabs are too long

Status in “gnome-terminal” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  PROBLEM
A new tab in gnome terminal is too long (in general in all gnome's
applications which use tabs, as nautilus for example). This is unlikely to see,
but it is also less user-friendly because if we must click the second tab it is
too far to reach.

  SOLUTION
According to me the best solution is to have tabs similar to firefox or
chrome, tabs which are less long and which adapt themselves if the window is
very small (so the tabs dwarf themselves).
