Title:
gnome-panel is invisible after gnome starts

Status in “gnome-panel” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-panel

When gnome starts, the panel is invisible - i.e., only desktop
wallpaper with icons on it is shown. However, menu appears after any
click on the desktop. If you click on the place where the menu should
be, it correctly handles the click - appears with the menu item open.

This happens every time since one of the latest gutsy updates.
P.S. Might have something to do with the fact that I'm using compiz/emerald -
some redraw issue.
