Problem: User would like to use Gnome Fallback but after installing
recommended packages, Unity launcher still appears on the left and
classic gnome menu (applications/places) does not appear at the top
automatically.

1) User would like to use Classic Gnome for Ubuntu 12.04
2) User ran the following in terminal.

[code]sudo apt-get install gnome-session-fallback
Sudo apt-get install gnome-panel[/code]

3) User restarted computer and selected "Gnome Classic" from the login options.
4) Top panel did not appear and unity launcher still appears on left.
5) User can make top panel appear by:

[code] killall gnome-panel[/code]

Which needs to be done on each login.
6) User would like classic gnome top panel to appear automatically on each 
login and to remove unity launcher on the left.
