I also have this problem, but the funny thing is, if I maximize any window on the display link monitor, the issue of choppy mouse movements goes away. I will clarify that dragging a window around is still choppy, but not nearly as bad.. I even tried setting the background color to 'black' thinking maybe the issue was with a background image, but no such luck.

When I desactivate the screen in xRandr, but I keep the displaylink connected, everything work fine. I also tried to take all graphic effect and desktop in compiz setup, stay the same. I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 64 bits and the Kernel 3.11.0-031100rc5-generic I tried also with Kernel 3.10 and 3.9. My Graphic card is a Intel.
