With the related fix installed from psusi's PPA installed, my hard drive remains active/idle regardless of what timeout is set in gnome-disks, although when I log into Unity after a reboot, my hard drive audibly spins down and then immediately back up. I also get an error report from the udisks2 package, which has been submitted.
